This is only the start of the researched accounting on the history of this “revered” “gift from the gods”. The author also includes a fascinating account of how the chocolate bar actually came to be.In addition to the many delicious chocolate recipes the author handpicked, a detailed discussion on the many health benefits that cacao offers is also discussed.
The first recipe I’m going to make from this book will be the “Carrot Cake Brownies” – due to the very nutritious ingredients it contains.

I got this book earlier today and had a good look at it, but I've not yet had time to try the recipes. What a wealth of ideas there are. It's worth getting even if only for the ideas. I always prefer cookbooks with pictures so I debated between giving a four or five star review. But what the heck, I got it free and the author has clearly put a lot of effort into it. What a lovely change since an awful lot of books these days are junk. The fact that this is useful and enjoyable led me to give that well deserved extra star.
I hope the author does bring out a version with pictures, though.
Delivers more than 200 of the best recipes for tantalizing cupcakes, sumptuous brownies, velvety puddings and cakes, plus melt-in-your-mouth cookies, hot chocolate, truffles and much more.
With enough chocolate to satisfy even the deepest craving. The recipes themselves are just as inviting. My favorites are the Brownie Cupcakes with Mocha Gouache and the Chocolate Banana Souffles.
Recipes run from simple-to-prepare to more different levels of difficulty. This cookbook stands out for its user-friendly nature and the sheer deliciousness of its recipes.

Just in time for Valentine's Day celebrations. Starts out with a VERY detailed story about the history of chocolate.
Also of the many health benefits of eating chocolate. Recipes do not include pictures, nor nutritinal information.
There are quite a variety of recipes to choose from, drinks, appetizers, breakfast foods, muffins, cakes and cookies..
Chocolate Haystack cookies would be the first recipe I'd try because it's no bake and is so easy and quick.
This is the ultimate chocolate recipe guide ever! My boyfriend is a huge fan of chocolate, so I decided to surprise him with this on his birthday. I baked the chocolate fudge cake recipe and it turned out perfectly.
Now, post-birthday, my bf and I are going through all the recipes and choosing the ones we want to make next. The layout is organized, including the table of contents. It's broken down by cookies, cakes, the usual, and even appetizers and beverages! The author really goes all out in finding the best.
I also like the fact that there's a difficulty number for each recipe. I'm no gourmet chef, so I'm going to make sure that I stick to 1 and 2 for a while.
This is a perfect gift for the chocolate lover!
With the holidays just around the corner I was on the look-out for a great dessert cookbook. And, not going to lie, finding a cookbook composed entirely of chocolate recipes was like finding the Holy Grail of dessert cookbooks. I couldn't click on this book fast enough to buy it. If a good meal is the way to a man's heart, a succulent dessert made of chocolate is the way to *my* heart. In fact, I'm convinced "200 Chocolate Recipes" and I are soulmates. I've only tried the brownies thus far but they were yummy and delicious and I can't wait to try more of the recipes (I've got my eyes on the cheesecake). Most impressive was how easy the recipes were - they don't require a degree in chemistry the way a lot of cookbooks come across these days.
Such a great find - I couldn't be more pleased with it if I tried.
I was surprised when I started going through this cookbook as it gave me more than I expected. A nice intro about chocolate and its history was a good touch, but I really liked the prep time and the difficulty level mentioned for each recipe. Can't wait to try the Chocolate Orange Shortbread. I'm also intrigued by the Chocolate Kolache Cake Cookies. I don't do many cakes but if I ever wanted to, there's no end to possibilities. I never heard of a Beet Cake. I even saw one or two flourless cake recipes. All in all, there are a lot of interesting recipes, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I like this cookbook. Oh, and if you are wondering, there is a clickable Table of Contents that works.
i sometimes find cookbooks really challenging. The author makes the recipes seem so easy but I just can't seem to get the same result. It can be very frustrating and that is why this book was such a breath of fresh air. I was able to successfully recreate several of these decadent deserts and for once my family wasn't groaning at my cooking!
